AI Disclosure Notice
Last updated: August 20, 2026
Nomevex Inc. is committed to transparency about how artificial intelligence is used in our platform. This notice describes the AI systems we deploy, their purposes, and the safeguards in place.
1. AI Systems Overview
The Nomevex Inc. platform uses artificial intelligence in the following products:
1.1 NAE — On-Device AI Monitoring
- Purpose: Detect potential examination irregularities during proctored assessments.
- What it monitors: Face presence, multiple face detection, gaze direction, prohibited objects (phones, notes), window focus changes, and behavioral patterns.
- How it works: AI inference runs locally on the Student's device. Only cryptographic proofs and event metadata (e.g., "face detected," "gaze averted") are transmitted to servers. Raw video is not streamed by default.
- Human review: All AI-generated flags are reviewed by qualified Institution personnel before any consequential action is taken.
1.2 AI Learn — Educational Intelligence
- Purpose: Provide concept-level learning analytics, identify knowledge gaps, and generate instructional recommendations.
- What it analyzes: Assessment results, concept mastery patterns, prerequisite gaps, common misconceptions, and class-wide learning trends.
- How it works: AI models process assessment data to produce analytics dashboards, student risk predictions, and instructor recommendations.
- Human review: AI Learn outputs are advisory. All educational decisions (grading, intervention, curriculum changes) remain with qualified educators.
1.3 Instructor Copilot
- Purpose: Assist instructors in generating quizzes, assignments, rubrics, and lecture enhancements.
- What it generates: Question content, rubric criteria, lecture improvement suggestions, and assessment alignments.
- Human review: All generated content is provided as suggestions that instructors can accept, modify, or reject.
2. Data Used by AI Systems
| AI System | Data Processed | Data Source | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| NAE AI | Device sensor data, event metadata, cryptographic proofs | Student's device during exam | Session duration + retention policy |
| AI Learn Analytics | Assessment scores, concept mastery levels, learning patterns | Exam results from NAE | Institutional retention policy |
| Instructor Copilot | Curriculum content, learning objectives, student performance data | Instructor uploads and platform data | Per instructor session |
3. No Training on User Data
Nomevex Inc. does not use Institutional Data, Exam Data, Student Personal Data, or any customer-generated content to train, fine-tune, or improve artificial intelligence models.
AI models are hosted on Microsoft Foundry and are pre-trained by the model provider. Nomevex Inc. does not contribute customer data to model training pipelines.
4. Automated Decision-Making
Nomevex Inc.'s AI systems do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects on Students or similarly significantly affect them. Specifically:
- Grading: AI does not determine examination scores. Scores are determined by the examination content and the Student's responses.
- Academic standing: AI flags are advisory. All decisions about academic integrity, disciplinary action, or academic standing are made by qualified Institution personnel.
- Admission or expulsion: AI systems do not make decisions about Student admission, enrollment, or expulsion.
Under GDPR Article 22, Students have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing. Nomevex Inc.'s AI systems are designed to support human decision-making, not replace it.
5. Bias & Fairness
- AI monitoring systems are tested across diverse populations to identify and mitigate demographic bias.
- Confidence thresholds are configurable per Institution to balance sensitivity and specificity.
- False positive rates are monitored and reported to Institutions.
- Institutions can request bias audit reports for their specific deployment.
- Students who believe they have been subject to biased AI processing can raise concerns through their Institution's grievance procedure.
6. Student Rights Regarding AI
Students have the following rights regarding AI processing:
- Right to information: Students may request a description of how AI processes their data.
- Right to human review: Students may request human review of any AI-generated flag or assessment.
- Right to opt-out: Where legally permissible and Institutionally configured, Students may opt out of AI monitoring features.
- Right to explanation: Students may request an explanation of specific AI decisions that affected their assessment experience.
To exercise these rights, Students should contact their Institution's Data Protection Officer or privacy contact.
7. Model Information
| Capability | Provider | Hosting | Training Data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Face detection | On-device (Rust/TensorFlow Lite) | Student's device | Public datasets (not customer data) |
| Object detection | On-device (Rust/TensorFlow Lite) | Student's device | Public datasets (not customer data) |
| Text generation (Copilot) | Microsoft Foundry | Microsoft Azure | Pre-trained; no customer data used |
| Learning analytics | Custom models | Nomevex Inc. infrastructure | Pre-trained; customer data processed, not trained on |
8. Changes to AI Systems
Nomevex Inc. may update AI models and capabilities over time. Material changes to AI processing that affect how Student data is used will be communicated through this disclosure notice and, where required, through updated consent mechanisms.
